Does anyone know a website to see where ships are and what cargo they are carrying?

The easiest way to do this is by port.

Most seaports will publish a manifest of arrivals %26amp; departures, and also list the vessels' owners or shipping agents so that you can get goods carried if there's space on the vessel.

For example, try this site for Rouen in France:

Finding out what the cargoes are, is a more complicated task. Most customers wouldn't want this information to be publicly available, because this knowledge might affect their trading position.

( And, as Terry %26amp; gh point out, some cargoes would attract unwelcome attention ! )

Bulk transport (eg crude oil or minerals) is easily monitored, because the carrier often specialises by type, and lading (full or empty) can be determined by sight (an empty ship rides high in the water, and a full one lies very low).Does anyone know a website to see where ships are and what cargo they are carrying?
Look for AIS positions on the coast. Some companies and ports publish that, but it's only for closse to shore, and the AIS data for cargo is only general- hazmat, cargo, etc.

For privacy reasons, and protection from piracy, details are not widely available.

You can do an AMVER search and see some neat stuff, though. Look it up online.Does anyone know a website to see where ships are and what cargo they are carrying?
you are not a pirate by any chance are you? lol
