Not usually as you have to take into consideration the thickness of the mattress. Grand Caravans are simply longer than the standard caravan, not wider.
Old ones are thinner and it probably won't matter if you bend them a bit.
New ones should be transported without folding or bending, especially for warranty considerations. Some are even recommended that they are shipped flat
Wrap it well, mattress bags are available at mattress retailers or at UHaul, and use a truck.
You will likely have a new mattress longer than you will own your vehicle.
measure the van queen size is BIG..Put it on the roof... tie down real good .go sloow

If you're renting it, ask the rental company what the measurements are in the back with the seats down.
